MANPOWER HIRING AND HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

Manpower shortage has been the top issue faced by many of our local SMEs. Whether the problem is hiring new candidates or developing the current talent, companies should know what their next step is. Mapletree Industrial Trust and SME Centre@SMF are working together once again to organise a seminar which focuses precisely on these issues. The seminar, taking place in October 2014, aims to help local SMEs to better understand some of the programmes and funding schemes rolled out and how to tap on them to stand out as a preferred employer of choice.

The SME Centre@SMF will be sharing on the SME Talent Programme (STP) which aims to help local SMEs attract talents from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Polytechnics and Universities. The SME Talent Programme has been expanded to support student internship, study sponsorship and fresh hire training. The programme is an initiative by SPRING Singapore, in partnership with participating Trade Associations & Chambers (TACs), ITE, Polytechnics and Universities. The appointed TACs, including SME Centre@SMF, are the key managing partners of this initiative to recruit talents for growing SMEs across industries.

The Workforce Development Agency (WDA) will also be sharing on its new initiative, Jobs Bank to facilitate online job matching between local job seekers and employers. It is a simple and user-friendly portal that allows employers to advertise directly, and will serve the employment needs for local job seeker.

Other than the two programmes explained above, there will be other relevant schemes and programmes explored during the seminar. A local SME will also be invited to share their experience on how their business has benefited from the various schemes. It will definitely be an exciting and fruitful session for tenants who wish to understand more about solutions for labour issues.

Not sure which scheme would be most applicable to your business? Having trouble with requirements in order to apply for the scheme? We understand that government schemes may not be the easiest to grasp. Both Business Advisors from SME Centre@SMF and WDA will be at the event to provide comprehensive and personalised advice to tenants.

Date: 14th October 2014
Venue: Mapletree Business City
Agencies Present: SPRING Singapore, WDA & more!
